How to Choose the Right Shoe Size
Choosing the right shoe size is crucial for the comfort and health of your feet or your children's feet. Follow these simple steps to ensure a perfect fit:
Step 1: Measure Foot Length
Prepare:
- A sheet of paper
- A pen or pencil
- A ruler or measuring tape
Procedure:
- Place the sheet of paper on a flat surface against a wall.
- Stand with your heel pressed against the wall and your foot flat on the paper.
- Carefully mark the end of the longest toe (usually the big toe or second toe) with the pencil.
- Repeat this process for both feet, as one foot may be slightly longer than the other.
Step 2: Measure Foot Width
Outline:
- On the same paper, trace around the foot's entire outline (it may be easier if someone helps you).
Measure:
- Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure the widest part of the traced foot outline.
Step 3: Find the Right Size
Use the Size Chart:
- Refer to our size charts to find the foot length and corresponding shoe size.
- If your measurements fall between two sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size for more comfort.
Step 4: Check Specific Parameters
Check the Size Charts for Each Model:
- Each shoe model may have different parameters, so we strongly recommend checking the size charts assigned to individual shoe models before each purchase. These charts can always be found in the description of each shoe model.
Step 5: Recommended Shoe Room
For the correct shoe choice, consider the following information about shoe room:
- Standard Room: Generally, a shoe room of 1.2 cm is recommended for children's shoes.
- Foot tracing: The actual traced foot outline with a pencil/marker is usually about 2-5 mm longer than the real size!
- First walkers: For small sizes, a 1.2 cm shoe room is often too large. Therefore, we recommend evaluating it very individually.
- Minimum room: For proper foot function, the minimum room should be 0.5 cm.
We thus recommend choosing shoes with a room between 0.6 cm and 1.2 cm for optimal comfort and proper foot growth for your children. Always based on individual gait assessment.
Tips for a Perfect Fit:
- Best Time to Measure: Feet can slightly change size throughout the day. For the most accurate measurement, measure feet in the afternoon or evening when they are most "spread out."
- Consider Socks: If you plan to wear shoes with socks, measure the foot length while wearing the socks you intend to use.
- Trying on Shoes:
- Walking in Shoes: After receiving new shoes, try them on at home, walking on a soft surface (e.g., carpet) to check if they fit well and do not pinch.
- Exchange: If the shoes do not fit properly, take advantage of our return or exchange options according to our conditions.
